Clarification for Sudoku Alphabet
Hi,
This contest looks most promising. I just think the Instruction Booklet need some clarification.
1. All examples are 6x6 but I understand that all puzzles in the contest will be 9x9. Is that correct?
If so, I think that the detail of each puzzle ruleset should be expressed in terms of 9x9, with the occasional mention of how the rules were adapted to 6x6 for the example puzzle.
This applies notably to variants 2, 4, 6, 10, 13, 17, 23,
In particular, for the 9x9 version of Fifty-Fifty (puzzle 6), my guess is that 1/2/3 must be shaded, that 7/8/9 must be unshaded and that 4/5/6 are not constrained. For the 9x9 version of Queen (puzzle 17), the Queen digit will probably be 9 but it's safer to ask for confirmation.
2. For History (puzzle 8 ), I'm prepared to make use of Wikipedia to find dates I wouldn't know (and I almost surely won't know them). I just hope it's not to much frowned upon.
3. For Kropki (puzzle 11), I understand that the converse rule (all possible places are dotted) applies and I think it should be specified.
4. For V (puzzle 22), I am not sure whether the converse rule is intended to apply or not.
5. Same for X (puzzle 24).
I'm sure it will be a very fun contest. Thanks for everything!

Re: Sudoku Alphabet
1) All tasks will be 9x9
Fifty-fifty and Queen - right
2)
3, 4, 5) The converse rule applies.
I apologize for the omission in the instructions booklet.
